SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -Savannah Police are working to learn more after a man died from a gunshot wound at Memorial Health after he arrived at St. Joseph’s Hospital on Saturday night seeking treatment.
Officers responded to the parking lot of the Days Inn motel on Mercy Boulevard after receiving a shots fired call around 11:10 p.m. A further investigation revealed that a woman shot 27-year-old Marquis Robinson in the midst of a domestic-related argument. Robinson transported himself to St. Joseph’s to seek treatment. He was later taken by ambulance to Memorial Medical Center, where he died as a result of his injuries.
The woman has not been arrested yet as detectives work to find out more about the events leading up to the shooting.
Robinson had two active warrants at the time of the shooting that related to domestic violence between him and the woman.
The incident remains under investigation. No arrests have been made. Detectives are conferring with the Chatham County District Attorney’s Office.
