TYBEE ISLAND, GA (WTOC) - Tybee Island is hoping to cash in as runners lace up for an annual unique event in the city.
Critz Tybee Run Fest began Friday evening with the Kiddie Run and 5K. The 11th annual event drew people from here at home and over two dozen runners from Columbia, SC. One of the first to cross the finish line for the 5K tells us he and his family are staying on Tybee.
“I love Tybee. Tybee’s awesome,” said Thomas Harris, Deepstep, GA. “We come here all the time, so it was a joy to come down here and do it. Love it.”
Thomas, like many runners, is running Saturday morning in the half marathon, 10K, and the Beach Run.
There will be all types of entertainment and fun for the whole family.
Proceeds benefit several charity organizations in our community.
WTOC is a proud sponsor of this event!
