LIBERTY CO, GA (WTOC) -Friends and family said their final goodbyes to a Liberty County basketball player who was killed in a crash 2 weeks ago.
Albert "Spud" Dock was a passenger in car that was driving down East Olgethorpe Highway when a car crashed into the back of them.
The crashed caused the SUV he was in to flip into a ditch, killing him and injuring two others in the car.
Since the crash, Liberty County’s basketball team has played a couple of games. They say the rival schools have helped them get through their loss.
“Going away and playing other schools, every school has showed us some kind of sport, some kind of memorabilia," said Assistant Coach Tiwanna Blakely. "Long County gave us a basketball, cards, flowers. At first it was really sad for them to start, but now I think its more like playing with pride. Playing for Spud.”
22-year-old Antoine McLendon has been charged with murder and homicide by vehicle in Spud’s death.
