SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -February is Black History Month and folks in the community used the opportunity to throw a grand festival on Saturday.
It was held at the Savannah Civic Center. The day started with a historical health walk.
There was health fair screenings, demonstrations, line dances, and more. Local authors were there and Magic Marc put on a show for the kids.
“Remembering our ancestors, remembering our roots, remembering where we came from, celebrating who we are diverse people from everywhere here in Savannah coming together to just enjoy themselves and have a good time,” said Letha Moore, a festival attendee.
The Savannah Black Heritage Festival is presented by Savannah State University and the City of Savannah.
