Body found in Tybee Island waters confirmed as missing man
The search resumed Tuesday morning for a missing man off Tybee Island.

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - The Chatham County Coroner has confirmed that a body found on Monday during a search for a man that went missing in the waters around Tybee Island was that of U.S. Army Staff Sgt. Jesee Binkley, an intelligence analyst.

Multiple emergency agencies were out searching Monday night around the north end of Tybee Island for 33-year-old Binkley. He was last seen in the water on his paddle board wearing a wet suit by his wife.

Staff Sgt. Binkley was assigned to the 2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division. He served in the Army since 2006 and was deployed four times to Afghanistan, Iraq, and Korea.

The Staff Sergeant is survived by his wife and son. Fort Stewart officials are continuing to investigate and are working with local law enforcement who found Binkley shortly after noon on February 19th.
