SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Just 4 weeks from now, players on the tour will be teeing off at the Savannah Golf Championship.

After a wildly successful year one, the focus at Wednesday’s media day was making year two bigger and better. That will include an upgraded experience at Schooner Cove, a fan-favorite last season. They’ll be adding a food truck village, a DJ and more to that area.

There will also be a “family fun zone” on the backside of the range, a kid’s autograph area, a 19th hole “fan zone”, and a military presence including tanks and other equipment on the course.

Event organizers also announced a new prize for the tournament winner. In addition to the trophy, they’ll be sporting a seersucker jacket on Sunday.

“Obviously, our market is surrounded by the plaid coat at RBC Heritage, the coveted green coat over at the Masters," says tournament director Cheyenne Overby. “We thought about, ‘What’s really fun for a player?’ They all have trophies, right? They all get big checks. What can we do that fits with our community? We are Savannah and we want to stay Savannah. That’s important to us and you know, seersucker popped in one day and I said, ‘that’s it, guys.’"

The Savannah Golf Championship tees off on March 28 at Deer Creek Golf Course.
