RIO GRANDE, Puerto Rico (WTOC) - Bryson Nimmer’s first foray on the PGA Tour will last a little while longer.

The Bluffton made the cut at the Puerto Rico Open by two shots, and will play the weekend in his PGA Tour debut. Nimmer fired an even par 144 over the first two rounds at Coco Beach Golf and Country Club in Rio Grande.

He’s just the third active Clemson golfer to make the cut in a PGA Tour event.

Nimmer shot a three-under 69 in the first round before grinding out a three-over 75 in Friday’s second round.

The Hilton Head Christian alum was the co-medalist in last weekend’s collegiate Puerto Rico Classic, also played in Rio Grande. Nimmer shot a 210 over the 54-hole tournament.
