BRYAN COUNTY, GA (WTOC) - A total of five vehicles were involved in a crash that backed up traffic in the southbound lanes of I-95 for hours Thursday afternoon.
It happened shortly after 4 p.m. in Richmond Hill. Traffic was backed up for miles, and drivers say they were still in bumper-to-bumper traffic around 8 p.m.
The Georgia State Patrol tells us three passenger vehicles and two semi-trucks were involved. The first semi-truck stopped and then a chain reaction happened behind him. The first semi-truck was not cited, but the three passenger vehicles and one semi-truck that all rear-ended each other were all given citations for following too close.
Four people were injured in this crash, one critically.
GSP continues to investigate.
