Hinesville Police are asking for information about a burglary that took place over the weekend at a gaming store.

Police say the “Gamers Only” store on West General Screven Way was burglarized. They say a thousands of dollars worth of merchandise related to a game called “Magic the Gathering” was taken.

“The original employee, when they found evidence that something may have happened, they thought initially maybe it was just a mess left by another employee, but they later determined that actual merchandise was missing,” said Captain Tracey Howard, Hinesville PD.

“I wish the best for him recovering his things, and you just have to watch your back and make sure everything is locked up when you leave,” said Javin Tripp, business neighbor.

Investigators say the crime happened sometime between Friday night and Monday morning.

Just a couple of weeks ago, there was trouble at another game store in Hinesville. Investigators say someone set Jungle Jake’s on fire. Arson investigators are working this case. We asked if the incidents at the two game stores were connected.

“Of course we always look for any potential association between one crime and another. If it’s the same type of business, we are definitely keeping up with whether it may be a related crime or whether it could be just two isolated events.

Police say there were no security cameras to catch the thieves. If you have any information, you’re asked to contact officials.
