BRYAN CO., GA (WTOC) - The Bryan County Opioid Prevention Project is working with local law enforcement to encourage Bryan County residents to participate in the Drug Enforcement Administration’s National Drug Take Back Day this weekend.
The event will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 27 at the Richmond Hill Police Department, 120 Richard Davis Drive, and the Pembroke Police Department, 154 W Railroad Street.
National Take-Back Day is a safe, convenient, and responsible way to dispose of unused or expired prescription drugs.
Other Drug Take Back events around the area this weekend will be held as follows:
-CHATHAM COUNTY: Saturday, April 27, from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.:
- Sam’s Club, 1975 East Montgomery Crossroads, Savannah
- Sam’s Club, 15 Mill Creek Circle, Pooler
- Walmart, 4725 US Hwy 80 East, Savannah
- Walmart, 6000 Ogeechee Road, Savannah - Only prescription pills and patches can be turned in at this time. No liquids or sharps.
-EFFINGHAM COUNTY: Saturday, April 27 - The Rincon Police Department is now a prescription drug drop off site for the Rincon Community. You can safely dispose of your unused medications during business hours all year at Police Headquarters located at 107 W 17th Street. The National Prescription Drug Take Back Day is April 27th, 2019. This day addresses a crucial public safety and public health issue.
-BEAUFORT COUNTY: Sunday, April 28 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Beaufort County Convenience Center, 80 Shanklin Road in Beaufort, and at the Beaufort County Convenience Center, 104 Simmonsville Road in Bluffton.
