SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - West Chatham Middle School has raised the most money for the annual Dollars for Disaster Campaign.
The American Red Cross of Southeast and Coastal Georgia says over 20 schools participated in the campaign, raising more than $17,000 to support local disaster response. West Chatham Middle School took home the top honor for the tenth year in a row.
“Students get really excited because we truly have a heart. We believe in the cause because we have actually had students and teachers here at West Chatham that have lost homes due to fire, so we know exactly what the Red Cross does,” said Lisa Roberson, West Chatham Middle School.
West Chatham Middle School was presented with two trophies for their efforts.
