SCAD’s annual Sand Arts Festival underway on Tybee

TYBEE ISLAND, GA (WTOC) - Creativity will shine on Tybee Island this Friday.

The Savannah College of Art and Design’s 2019 Sand Arts Festival is May 3 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Tybee’s South Beach.

Participation is open to SCAD students, alumni, faculty and staff who vie for top prizes, including the coveted SCAD Spirit award. The event is free and open to the public. Spectators can watch as students, alumni, prospective students, faculty and staff create more than 500 sand designs near the Tybee Pier.
