CHATHAM COUNTY, GA (WTOC) - The owner of a local business has been arrested on weapon and drug charges.

Adolfo Mitchell, also known as Flaco, was arrested on two counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of marijuana, and driving under the influence after a traffic stop on March 7, 2018. The 33-year-old was pulled over on Interstate 16 by the Georgia State Patrol leading to a search of the vehicle.

This April, a Chatham County Grand Jury returned a True Bill on the original charges and two additional charges. The new charges are using a minor for an illicit transaction and two counts of furnishing a pistol to a minor.

Mitchell was re-arrested on the new charges on May 1, 2019 at the Flacos Tacos restaurant in Richmond Hill.

He is the owner of the Flacos Tacos locations in Chatham County and Bryan County.

Mitchell was released on an $8,500 bond on Friday, May 10.

The Chatham Counter Narcotics Team says that the investigation is ongoing, and more charges and arrests are expected.
