BLUFFTON, S.C. (WTOC) - The May River Sharks defeated the Indian Land Warriors 6-2 to bring the boys SCHSL Class AAA Title back to Bluffton.

Just three hours later, the boys track team also took home top honors.

“It’s amazing. It’s a testament to the boys commitment and dedication," said Head Soccer Coach Misael Garzon. "Two years ago, our first year, we had nine, eight freshman on the team. and we took some bumps and the growth that we’ve shown has just been unreal. This is the conclusion of these boys believing and just trusting and growing with one another and this is just unreal. This is phenomenal.”

Junior Conner Golden, who scored multiple goals in the win agreed.

“You know, I couldn’t have really done it without my team behind me and we’ve worked for it this whole season to win this game and so it means a lot to not just me, but our entire team, so this is our first state championship we’re bringing back to May River High School and we plan to get more.”
