SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -The BAPS charity walk to raise awareness about climate change was on Sunday.
The walk also supports The Nature Conservancy's efforts to plant one billion trees by 2025 through their Plant a Billion Trees initiative.
This year’s walk will help them plant around 61 thousand trees by the end of 2019.
“It’s important to partner with them because its diversity and inclusion and it hasn’t been a traditional partnership but it has been a good partnership so far," said Bob Crimian with the Nature Conservancy. "I really appreciate the different outlook and the combination of efforts together.”
BAPS Charities hold these walkathons every year in 70 different locations.
They bring together over 23,000 people in line with their mission.
