SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - It wasn’t that long ago Alexus Parker was making a name for herself on the court at Calvary Day’s Tippet Gym.

Now, the 24 year old is getting her first head coach as the new girls’ varsity basketball coach at St. Andrew’s.

After two seasons as an assistant at Calvary and Country Day, Parker has assumed the role of leading the Lions. Parker says she’s excited to help lead girls who, just like Parker, have dreams of letting basketball take them further than they ever thought possible.

“Being from the city of Savannah, where so many of us have these aspirations of going basketball pro or pro football," Parker says. “Being able to come back home and get the opportunity to give other kids the opportunity to be able to go to the next level is a dream come true.”

Parker spent lat season as an assistant head coach at Country Day.
