BEAUFORT, S.C. (WTOC) - For the first time in school history, Battery Creek hoisted the SCHSL softball championship trophy on Wednesday night, beating Union County in game two by a final score of 2-1.
“Being a senior right now- this feels amazing. It couldn’t have gone better this year,” said senior catcher McKenzie Young.
The Dolphins won game one at Union County on Monday 2-1 as well. With the sweep, the team finished 22-8-1 on the year.
“The kids believed all year long," said Head Coach Christian Carr. "They knew we had a good squad. Special moments like this are what Battery Creek is all about.”
