Roads reopen following fatal crash reconstruction in Savannah

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - Savannah Police have reopened several roads that were closed Thursday while investigators reconstructed a deadly crash.

The wreck happened on May 5th at the corner of Bulloch Street and Amaranth Avenue. Police say 73-year-old Benjamin Simmons died in that wreck, after his car hit a pickup truck and ran into a power pole. The driver of the pickup was also hurt, but not seriously.

Around 9:30 a.m., officers closed Amaranth between Argyle and Lamark - as well as Bulloch between 49th and 50th streets. All roads reopened just before 12:30 p.m.
