SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - The Savannah-Chatham County Public School System received a generous donation from Parker’s Thursday morning.
Parker’s presented a check to the school system for $25,000. The money was raised through Parker’s Fueling the Community program. It donates one cent of every gallon of gas sold at all of the company’s convenience stores to local stores on the first Wednesday of the month.
“School and community, when they come together, you can only expect great things to happen, because our schools are a product of the community in which they live," said Vallerie Caves, Executive Director for K8 Schools, SCCPSS. “So, it’s really important for us to remember that community builds our schools. We are excited about that partnership."
Parker’s launched its charitable initiative in 2011 and has donated money to public and private schools in every community where Parker’s does business.
