PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WTOC) - Cooking legend Paula Deen is opening a new restaurant in Panama City Beach, Florida.
Deen already owns five other family kitchen locations all around the south. And, she has two restaurants in Savannah; The Lady and Sons and Paula Deen's Creek House.
Deen grew up in Albany, Georgia just hours away from the emerald coast where Panama City sits. She and her family and friends found a special place in their hearts for the panhandle.
"Panama City meant so much to Georgia, lower Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, because of that panhandle," says Deen. "Every minute that we got growing up we came down here."
Deen says she always wanted to share a taste of her family cooking with tht area.
Deen also gave a donation to Bethel Village of Panama City Rescue Mission on behalf of her Bag Lady Foundation, which helps to support women and families.
