SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - Basia Peragine remembers being that freshman, looking up to the Cavalier seniors.
Now she’s the senior winning all the attention.
Peragine received the Hollis Stacy Award Friday at Calvary’s Honors Day program. She calls it a great honor, but says it’s interesting to know that she’s now that role model the young girls can look up to.
“When they were seniors, they won all the awards. You know, we won state together," Peragine says. "Now that I’m here, I’m that senior winning those awards. I’m so honored to be here and be that.”
Peragine is headed to Stonehill College near Boston to play volleyball next season.
