MACON, Ga. (WTOC) - The Saints notched a three-peat on the campus of Mercer University in Macon on Saturday, getting a shut-out 5-0 win over regional foe Vidalia.

The two local teams battled it out for the GHSA 2A title, having met two times already in the 2019 season. In February, Vidalia handed the Saints a 2-1 loss. In the Regional Championship, St. Vincent’s beat the Indians 6-3.

SVA’s Emma Beddow scored one goal to make it 3-0 heading into halftime.

St. Vincent’s finished with a 17-5 overall record.

“I am super proud of this group. They have been working their butts off all season long to get to just this platform and they did it," said Saints Head Coach Tess Tvrdy.

It was also the best finish in school history for the Vidalia soccer program- boys or girls. Previously, the best season had been in 2012 when the girls made it to the Elite Eight. They finished with a 21-2 overall record, both losses coming from St. Vincent’s.
