SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - A bike trail that runs from Daffin Park in Savannah all the way to Lake Mayer is in the works.
Phase one of the Truman Linear Park trail is already done. That part goes from Daffin Park to the intersection of 52nd Street and Bee Road.
Now, construction for phase two has started, which will stretch the trail all the way to Lake Mayer.
The city and county agreed to split the cost of construction. The county will build from Lake Mayer to DeRenne Avenue.
The city is responsible for construction from DeRenne to Bee Road.
The construction also includes lighting, cameras, and emergency call boxes. It’s expected to be completed next fall.
