Savannah pastor charged with child molestation, statutory rape

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - According to the Chatham County Detention Center, Savannah pastor Alfonza Peter McClendon is accused of child molestation.

Officials say McClendon is charged with child molestation, aggravated child molestation, and statutory rape. No other details about the case have been released at this time.

He was released on June 27 on a $5,700 bond.

McClendon is the pastor of First Metropolitan Baptist Church in Savannah.
