SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - The body of a missing swimmer was found at about 7:50 a.m. Tuesday by Georgia DNR, according to the Savannah Police Department.
Savannah first responders spent Monday afternoon looking for a missing swimmer at Bell’s Landing near Apache Avenue. The Savannah Police Department says 53-year-old Anthony Adams went missing at about 1:30 p.m. Monday.
SPD, Savannah Fire and Rescue and the Georgia Department of Natural Resources were all on scene looking for Adams.
Locals say they are heartbroken of the news.
“I just felt, ‘Oh, my goodness. That’s my place, that’s my space, let me go check it out and see what’s going on,’ because I’ve lived down here before, and most of the people that come down here, you get to know them and they are good people," Sandra Mosley said.
