Suspect arrested for vandalizing Tybee Island pier

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - The Tybee Island Police Department has arrested a suspect for vandalizing the pier over the weekend.

The department says Christopher Kuharik was identified as a suspect by detectives. After speaking with Kuharik, detectives obtained warrants for his arrest on the charges of Interference with Government Property (Felony) and Criminal Trespass (Misdemeanor).

Kuharik was stopped by the Chatham County Police Department on Wednesday, Sept. 11 and was arrested. Kuharik was booked into the Chatham County Detention Center with a $5,000 bond.

The Tybee Island Police Department is asking for the public’s help. Detectives are seeking any information on who vandalized the Pier over the weekend. Please contact Detective Coreno at 786-5600 or 472-5098.
