United Way of the Coastal Empire has raised $4 million so far toward 2019 goal

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - The United Way of the Coastal Empire is now halfway to meeting its 2019 fundraising goal.

Nearly $4 million has been raised so far. The goal this year is just over $8.5 million.

Money raised helps support 87 programs across 54 nonprofit organizations in Bryan, Chatham, Effingham and Liberty counties, including the Savannah Center for the Blind and Low Vision.

The campaign will end on Nov. 21 with a Victory Celebration.
