Authorities search for escaped inmate out of Bacon County

BACON CO., Ga. (WTOC) - Authorities in Bacon County have found an escaped inmate.

Telfair County Sheriff Chris Steverson posted that 32-year-old James Mitchell Metts was captured Tuesday night in Jacksonville, Georgia.

According to the Alma-Bacon County Crime Suppression Unit, Metts escaped police custody on Sunday and stole a car in Alma. He was captured Tuesday evening after a foot chase in Jacksonville, Ga. by Telfair County deputies, Coffee County K9 deputies and Department of Corrections officers.
