TYBEE ISLAND, Ga. (WTOC) - The Tybee Island lighthouse’s tower and observation deck will be closed for a few months for a restoration project.

Crews will begin the restoration project of the interior ironwork and brickwork on Jan. 4. The lighthouse will remain closed through March 2020.

The rest of the site will remain open, including the headkeeper’s cottage, 2nd assistant keeper’s cottage, summer kitchen and the Tybee Island museum.

Tickets will be reduced during this time to $9 for adults and $7 for seniors, military, groups and children.
