The incident occurred around the 1700 block of White Hall Road, according to authorities.

COLLETON COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) - Colleton County authorities say autopsies were being conducted Tuesday on the victims of what deputies say was a murder-suicide.

Haskell Huggins Jr., 50; and Toya Kirkland, 43, died of gunshot wounds, according to the coroner’s office.

The incident occurred Sunday in the 1700 block of White Hall Road, according to Colleton County deputies.

Colleton County Sheriff’s spokesperson Shalane Lowes said a man inside a home apparently shot and killed a woman and then killed himself.

Deputies say a third shooting victim is being treated at an area hospital.

“There’s no imminent danger to the public at this time,” Lowes said Sunday night. “We are asking residents who travel that way to use an alternate route at this time.”

The Colleton County Coroner’s Office has not yet released the identities of the victims.
