Daufuskie Island residents currently should use landline phones to call 911 after lightning struck a tower, causing an interruption of cell phone service.
Utility companies are working to repair the issues. They hope to have the issue resolved soon.
For the time being, if you are on Daufuskie Island, please use a landline to call 911 if you are experiencing an emergency and are unable to get through with your cell phone.
