PORT ROYAL, S.C. (WTOC) - A WTOC update on 9/15/2020: The town of Port Royal has extended its mask mandate.

The Town Council voted to extend the ordinance until October 14, 2020.

The town now joins Hilton Head, the city of Beaufort, Bluffton, and Beaufort County who all recently extended their mask mandates and ordinances.


The Town of Port Royal unanimously passed an ordinance to require masks in all buildings open to the public.

The ordinance will go into effect at 8 a.m. on Thursday, July 2.

The ordinance will expire in 30 days unless council votes to shorten or extend the timeframe.

Violation of the order could result in a fine of $50.
