MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Ga. (WTOC) - Montgomery County Sheriff Doug Maybin says the body of a man that went missing in the Altamaha River in the Three Rivers area has been located.
The man went underwater around 1:30 Friday and never resurfaced.
Witnesses told Sheriff Maybin that they spotted a man in the Altamaha River where it meets the Oconee and Ocmulgee rivers. He went underwater and no one has seen him since.
About 30 first responders from Montgomery, Jeff Davis, Appling, Toombs counties have been working with the Department of Natural Resources to find the man since Friday.
The sheriff says that the man will be identified once the next of kin is notified.
