Hargray says contractor cut line causing widespread service outage

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - UPDATE: Hargray has announced what they say caused widespread service outage in their Georgia market on Wednesday.

According to Hargray, a contractor for Georgia Power cut Hargray’s fiber connection. Hargray states that regulations were not properly followed, and the company has taken action to help ensure the incident does not happen again.

Hargray said services were restored by 11:15 p.m. Wednesday night.
