ATLANTA, Ga. (WALB) - On Wednesday, Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger sent a 10-page letter to Georgia Representatives Jody Hice and Barry Loudermilk and Sen. Kelly Loeffler addressing questions about the Peach State’s 2020 elections.
Raffensperger wrote that it was a point-by-point refutation of false claims about Georgia elections.
He addressed the letter to these officials because they had previously said they would object to Georgia’s electors during the joint session of the House and the Senate, who were gathered in their capacity as the Electoral College.
In his letter, Raffensperger said he was disappointed with the results of the election, but that it was conducted in a free and fair manner, and reflected the will of Georgia voters, who turned out in big numbers.
The secretary of state addressed four main topics: Dominion voting machines, absentee ballots, poll watchers and allegations of illegal voters.
Raffensperger sent copies to Vice President Mike Pence, Speaker Nancy Pelosi and the minority and majority leaders of the House and Senate.
