BULLOCH CO., Ga. (WTOC) - A former Bulloch County sheriff’s deputy has been sentenced to prison for possession of child pornography.

Travis Tuenge, 44, of Statesboro, was sentenced to 46 months in federal prison in U.S. District Court on Thursday. He pleaded guilty to one count of Possession of Child Pornography.

Court documents show the investigation began after suspicious text messages from Teunge were reported to the Sheriff’s Office. A joint investigation between the GBI and the Sheriff’s Office found images of child pornography on his phone.

After Tuenge completes his prison sentence, he must serve five years of supervised release and register as a sex offender.
