Savannah Police charge teen with shooting near East Park Avenue

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - Police are investigating a shooting that occurred Tuesday in the area of East Park Avenue and Cedar Street.

According to the Savannah Police Department, officers responded to the 1300 block of E. Park Avenue around 1:30 p.m. and discovered a 20-year-old man with a gunshot wound. He was transported to a hospital for treatment.

Detectives quickly determined that the shooting stemmed from a previous domestic incident. They say Elijah Zaire Henderson, 17, was identified as a suspect and arrested on a charge of aggravated assault. He is currently in custody at the Chatham County jail.
