Woman dies after being hit by vehicle on Ogeechee Rd. near Chatham Parkway

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - A 57-year-old Savannah woman has died after being hit by a vehicle on Ogeechee Road near the Chatham Parkway intersection.
According to police, officers responded to the 4300 block of Ogeechee Road around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday and discovered Mae Helen James suffering from injuries after being struck by a vehicle.
Police say she was transported to a hospital where she later died as a result of her injuries.
According to police, James was not in a crosswalk at the time she was struck.
The investigation is ongoing.
