SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - The Savannah Police Department is investigating a crash that occurred on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard on Wednesday.
According to police, a Toyota Camry was traveling north on MLK when the driver lost control and struck a light pole and tree near West Park Avenue.
The passenger in the car was transported to Memorial Health where he later died.
The driver of the vehicle sustained minor injuries and police say he was uncooperative with first responders and officers.
Police say evidence of drug use was located in the car and charges in the investigation are pending. An initial investigation determined DUI and failure to maintain lane as the causes of the crash.
