SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, many St. Patrick’s Day traditions in Savannah have been canceled or changed.

One fan favorite ceremony is the Greening of the Fountain in Forsyth Park - an unofficial “official” start to the Season of St. Patrick.

Enjoy this special presentation of the Greening of the Fountain presented with COVID safety protocols and limited attendance.

“It feels great to be out here to celebrate our heritage,” said Ashley Harris, Vice Chairman of the Savannah St. Patrick’s Day Parade Committee. “St. Patrick’s Day, to the Irish in Savannah, we turn all of the fountains green this time of the year and the children’s, it’s just a great thing for them to do.”
