Jasper Co. firefighter dies after suffering stroke

JASPER COUNTY, S.C. (WTOC) - A Jasper County firefighter and EMT has passed away.
Jasper County Fire and Rescue announced that Brian Mixson died of a stroke. He was a 14-year veteran of the county fire service.
Mixson reported having a headache a few weeks ago on duty. He was hospitalized earlier this week.
The Jasper Country firefighters will host an Honor Walk for Brian. The walk will start at 1 p.m. on Saturday at the Medical University of Charleston.
