Tybee Police arrest suspect in theft of vehicle

TYBEE ISLAND, Ga. (WTOC) - UPDATE: Tybee Police have arrested a suspect in connection with the theft of a vehicle on Monday, according to a Facebook post from the department. On Wednesday a tip led officers to the suspect and a male companion in the Spanish Hammock area of the island. Both individuals had outstanding warrants in Texas, and they were arrested by Tybee Police on those warrants pending additional charges, according to the department.

If you have seen this woman, you are asked to give Tybee Island Police a call.

Officers are still looking for her after they say she stole a car on the island on Monday.

Police say the 2017 Toyota Highlander was recovered behind Dune’s Inn on Butler Avenue.

Officers say they have reason to believe she’s still on the island. She was last seen wearing a white top and white shorts.

If you see her, police say don’t approach her.
