Tybee Island fire chief resigns after being placed on administrative leave
TYBEE ISLAND, Ga. (WTOC) - UPDATE: The Tybee Island fire chief has resigned.
According to a notice posted by the City of Tybee Island, the city accepted Matt Harrell’s resignation from his position.
The city says it is “actively exploring its options for replacement or organizational changes at this time.”
PREVIOUS STORY: The Tybee Island Fire Department chief, Matt Harrell, is on administrative leave, according to the city manager.
The city said they could not give any more information because there is an ongoing investigation into a public employee.
