EVANS COUNTY, Ga. (WTOC) - UPDATE, 10/11/2021 - The Evans County School System is making a change to its masking policy.
Starting Monday, Oct. 18, as students return from fall break, the school system says masks will go from mandatory to recommended.
The district says the change comes after seeing a decline in COVID-19 cases in both local schools and the community as a whole.
The district will continue its cleaning protocols, including fogging twice a week.
Evans County schools will continue to require staff and students to wear masks, according to a release from district Superintendent Martin Waters.
The Evans County School District previously announced that masks would be required through “at least the remainder of August.”
