CHATHAM COUNTY, Ga. (WTOC) - The eastbound lanes of Interstate 16 have reopened after an accident involving serious injuries early Wednesday afternoon.

Chatham Emergencies Services says three vehicles were involved in the crash, which happened underneath the overpass at Dean Forest Road. Eight people were taken to the hospital, and two are in critical condition.

Ten people in total were involved in the accident. Six people were in a van, two were in a car and two were in a truck, according to Chatham Emergency Services. The two people in critical condition were riding in the van.
