SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - Good morning and happy Wednesday. We’re waking up to some rain and thunder, particularly inland, early this morning ahead of a cold front. Temperatures are in the upper 60s south of the Altamaha River, warming into the lower 60s around Savannah and in the 50s further north at 4:30 a.m.

Scattered rain and thunder is forecast to persist through the morning commute; specially west of I-95. The chance of rain increases area-wide between mid-morning and early afternoon as a cold front sweeps through. A couple thunderstorms with brief heavy rain are possible. You can be alerted to rain approaching your area in the WTOC Weather App. The forecast dries out heading into the afternoon as temperatures cool back into the upper 50s and lower 60s with a breeze.

Some sunshine is likely before sunset; especially inland.

We’ll wake up to temperatures in the 40s, with a breeze and sunshine Thursday morning. Thursday is your pick-day for outdoor plans, despite some of the cloud-cover in the afternoon. Spotty rain is possible Friday and Saturday morning ahead of another strong cold front late in the day Saturday.

The chance of rain with this front peaks Saturday evening into very early Sunday morning.

Colder weather filters in Sunday and Monday.

Stay dry,
