SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - A passing storm system sparks a round, or two, of rain and storms today. There is a Slight (2/5) Risk of severe storms. All severe weather threats - hail, wind, isolated tornadoes - are possible with a couple severe storms. Though, this will not be a day with 100% coverage of storms. Some communities will miss the impact.

Showers and thundershowers are forecast to increase heading into the morning commute. The chance of storms becoming strong or severe increases through mid-morning. Storms with this first round may also produce very heavy rain and cause street flooding.

A bit of a lull in the rain is expected midday. Temperatures peak in the low to mid-70s by mid-afternoon.

Isolated strong or severe storms may move in from the southwest this evening; between 6 p.m. and midnight. These storms have a bigger large hail threat.

Have, at least, one way to get severe weather alerts today. Keep alerts turned “on” in your WTOC Weather App. The forecast dries out overnight.
