Bulloch Co. leaders tracking falling COVID case numbers
BULLOCH COUNTY, Ga. (WTOC) - Public safety leaders in Bulloch County say they’re encouraged by what they see, and don’t see, in the latest COVID case numbers.
They’ve seen just 22 new cases in the last two weeks. At Statesboro’s East Georgia Regional, they have only four COVID patients.
County leaders say numbers have gone down and stayed down and they hope that continues.
“We’re just seeing single digit cases per day, which is good. Our cases per 100,000 is at 26, and that is good,” Public Safety Director Ted Wynn said.
On the negative side, the percentage of people who’ve gotten tested and tested positive has jumped in the last week to almost twenty percent and the rate of people fully vaccinated remains below 40 percent and he’d like to see both of those improve.
Wynn says even as things get back to normal, he says he’s still encouraging people to take precautions to stay safe.
