Woman arrested after shooting on W. 47th St. Tuesday morning

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - A 32-year-old woman was arrested Tuesday morning in connection to a domestic-related shooting, according to Savannah police.

Officers responded to the 800 block of W. 47th Street around 1 a.m. and discovered a 61-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound.

The male’s injuries are non-life threatening.

Shortly after, officers responded to Mills B. Lane Boulevard at Edwin Street for a crash involving a pedestrian.

Detectives determined that the pedestrian was the suspect from the shooting.

Officials say Whitney Rivers walked into traffic in front of an oncoming car resulting in her bring struck.

She was transported to the hospital and received treatment.

Rivers was taken to the Chatham County jail on charges of aggravated assault-DVA and aggravated battery-DVA.
