2 people injured in Hinesville shooting
HINESVILLE, Ga. (WTOC) - Two people were shot at a mobile park home in Hinesville Monday.
The shooting happened in the area of S. Main Street a little before 2 p.m.
According to police, a male and female in a relationship were shot.
They say the shooting doesn’t appear to be domestic and they are looking for someone who might’ve been responsible.
Investigators say the call came in as a couple arguing and then shots rang out.
That’s how neighbors remember it happening too.
“Guns....you just never know. So first thing I did was check my windows make sure nothing was hit. I have animals inside,” said Stephanie Balle, who lives in the area.
Many of them didn’t want to be on camera because a suspect is not in custody but Stephanie Balle came home to this not far from her front door.
“I was floored. We don’t normally have issues with any neighbors.”
Police say this was targeted but that doesn’t make neighbors feel any safer.
“It bothers me. It’s gonna make me make sure my doors were locked as soon as I’m inside and I really hope they catch him fast.”
A few neighbors say this area hasn’t had a lot of crime, but it’s just enough that Balle recently felt like she needed to take more precautions.
“We’ve had attempted break-ins in the neighborhood. End of the last year they started so I installed cameras. Gas station right up the road was held at gun point...robbed. It’s really right in the backyard now.”
